Cookies
To make this site work properly, we sometimes place small data files called cookies on your device. Most websites do this also.
What is a cookie?
Plain and simple, a cookie is a small text file that a website saves on your computer or mobile device when you visit the site. It enables the website to remember your actions and preferences (such as login, language, font size and other display preferences) over a period of time, so you don't have to keep re-entering them whenever you come back to the site or browse from one page to another.
Google and the DoubleClick DART cookie:
Google AdSense ads may appear on some of these pages. Please be aware that….
* Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on this site.
* Google’s use of the DART cookie enables it to serve ads based on your visit to this site and other sites on the Internet.
* You may opt out of the use of the DART cookie by visiting the Google ad and content network privacy policy at the following URL - http://www.google.com/privacy_ads.html
How to Control Cookies
You can control and/or delete cookies as you wish - for details see aboutcookies.org. You can delete all cookies that are already on your computer and you can set most browsers to prevent them from being placed. If you do this however, you may have to manually adjust some preferences every time you visit a site and some services and functionalities may not work.
Third Party Advertisements
I have various
advertisements with Google and Amazon on this blog. These advertisers
may use technology such as cookies and web beacons when they advertise
on this site, which will also send these advertisers information (not
including your name, address, email address or telephone number) such as
your IP address, your internet service provider, the browser you used
to visit this site, and in some cases, whether you have Flash installed.
The information is basically used for geotargeting purposes (showing
Florida real estate ads to someone in Florida, for example) or for
showing certain ads based on specific sites visited (such as showing
sporting goods ads to someone who frequents sports related sites).
If
you would like more information about this practice and would like to
know your options in relation to not having this information used by
these companies, the visit Network Advertising Initiative.
You
should consult the respective privacy policies of these third-party ad
servers for details on their practices as wells how to opt-out of
certain practices. This blog's privacy policy does not apply to, nor can
we control theirs.
Again, you can chose to disable or
selectively turn off cookies or third-party cookies in your browser
settings, or by managing preferences in your internet security program
(if you have one) , however, this can affect how you are able to
interact with this site as well as other websites. This could include
the inability to login to services or programs, such as logging into
forums or accounts.
